with important new hire

and broadband connectivity devices, has announced the appointment of María Agüera as
Channel Marketing Specialist for Nordic, Baltic, Benelux, UK and Sub-Saharan Africa
(SSA) Territories.

Agüera has been brought on by SMC to focus on the communication strategies for the
SMB/e and SOHO markets. As part of the company's commitment to the chan-nel, Agüera
will provide important sales support and work closely with sales direc-tors, channel
partners and PR agencies to increase local presence in each territory. She will be
dedicated to improving communication with channel partners in order to identify
business opportunities, and work closely with them to boost their's, and SMC's brand
recognition, across Europe and SSA.

Agüera has 3 years experience in international communications and joins SMC from
Transcend, where she was employed as Marketing and PR Specialist for North and South
European countries. Commenting on her new role, Agüera said, "Joining SMC Networks
has been a very exciting move for me. The company already has a great reputation
for high quality products, good service and excellent distribution channel, so it's
going to be thoroughly enjoyable communicating this to our partners and providing
them with the tools to implement their own marketing strategies."
